The Social Studies Group is among a new breed of organizations enthusiastically embracing the underground workforce, which we define as the growing pool of highly qualified individuals working and thriving outside of the traditional office environment. To say it’s paying off would be something of an understatement. We (the founding partners, that is) long ago recognized that an increasing number of very accomplished and promising professionals were interested in a career that is more flexible in many ways than corporate America typically allows.
Having already used this knowledge once (Wendy turned it successfully into the foundation for an organizational structure for Scherer Cybrarian, LLC), we employed the same approach for the Social Studies Group.
As a result, we have been able to attract some of the brightest and most motivated individuals around. Today, our analysts are spread from New York to D.C. to Los Angeles; with some tucked in suburban hideaways in between.
Limited neither by geographic boundaries, “office politics” nor rigidly imposed 9-5 work hours, we are able to pull from an amazing pool of talent. And Internet technology being what it is today, we function as a tightly woven team, collectively thriving off our shared creativity and insights. We believe ours is a model many successful organizations will begin to follow.
If you are smart, social media savvy and a researcher at heart, and are interested in talking to us about joining our team, let us know. We would love to hear from you.
